The Chair for Operating Systems (Univ.-Prof. Dr. habil. Th. Bemmerl) provides in cooperation with Daimler Truck Vorentwicklung the following diploma thesis in the range of
Embedded Real Time Systems:
Analysis and Evaluation of Basic Software and Development Tools for the Autosar Standard Regarding its Technical Objectives
Background
As a reaction to rising complexity and hence rising development costs for electonic systems, since 2003 the automotive industry created a standard defining a system architecture regarding basic software, interfaces for applications and development tools and methods of implementation.
The technical goals are modularity, scalability, transferability and reusability.
The software components are demanded to be independent from the underlying controller hardware.
First evaluations of available Autosar basic software and associated development tools have shown that reaching the aforementioned goals is by no means trivial, but significant deficits put the accomplishment sometimes into question.
What is needed is a more thorough analysis to find the causes of the detected deficiencies and show off alternate ways.
